ABDUL-MALIK RYAN

CLASS OF 1995

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF RELIGIOUS DIVERSITY AND PASTORAL CARE AND MUSLIM CHAPLAIN, DIVISION OF MISSION AND MINISTRY

DePaul alum Adul-Malik Ryan is a highly respected religious leader who served as Muslim chaplain when DePaul was the first university in Chicago to create the position in 2009. As the university’s assistant director of religious diversity and pastoral care, he has been instrumental in weaving the Muslim community into the fabric of DePaul’s broader community and Vincentian mission.
My favorite spot on campus is the Muslim Life Center in the Lincoln Park Student Center. It provides a special home for the Muslim community and gives evidence of DePaul's commitment to supporting all students. It witnesses all the things that make life at DePaul beautiful -- teaching and learning, faith and prayer, growth and change, laughter and tears, community and love.
