Dave Dopek is the greatest sprinter in DePaul's history, winning seven individual Great Midwest Conference Championships, and claiming multiple indoor and outdoor titles, including the 1995 NCAA National Champion for the indoor 200 meters and NCAA runner-up for the outdoor 200 meters. Under his leadership on DePaul's Track & Field and Cross-Country coaching staff for over 26 years, the Blue Demons have become one of the top-performing Division I programs in the nation including in the classroom, with numerous USATFCCCA All-Academic and BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence awards. Dopek was inducted into the DePaul Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010.
