DOUG BRUNO

CLASS OF 1973 & 1988

HEAD COACH, WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Born and raised in Chicago, Doug Bruno has transformed DePaul women’s basketball into a national powerhouse program, with a lasting impact on the game he loves. He has guided the Blue Demons to 25 NCAA Tournament appearances, a feat matched only by the NCAA elite Connecticut, Stanford and Tennessee.

Bruno was inducted into the NCAA Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2022. The Double Demon is also only the fourth active Division I head coach to reach the 600-wins mark (total career wins is 798) and has won two consecutive Olympic gold medals as coach for the USA’s women’s basketball team.
Everything I am has been shaped by DePaul. DePaul has taught me to work hard, to play hard, to have fun, while always asking, 'What can be done' for others.
