GEORGE & TANYA RUFF
George and Tanya Ruff are extremely generous individuals who are devoted to DePaul, its students and Vincentian mission. A native of Chicago’s Southside, George enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps after graduating from high school and served in Vietnam. After returning to Chicago, he graduated from DePaul University with a B.S. in Accountancy, and began a long and successful career in real estate and hotel investment and operations. He was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2007 and became a Life Trustee in 2019, serving as chair of the Physical Plant and Property Committee from 2008 to 2016. He also played pivotal roles in the creation of the Richard H. Driehaus College of Business Coleman Entrepreneurship Center and Real Estate Center. Additionally, he has shared his expertise as a member of the Driehaus College of Business Dean's Advisory Council and the School of Hospitality Advisory Council. George and Tanya’s philanthropic investments have funded scholarships, endowed a faculty chair, and established the George and Tanya Ruff Institute of Global Homelessness fund.
