Technology pioneer Helmut Epp changed the face of DePaul. In his 40-plus year career, he served in a variety of roles including teaching DePaul’s first computer science classes, establishing the computer science department and serving as provost. He also helped establish DePaul’s digital infrastructure, including the introduction of student email, providing faculty with computers and co-leading the transition to online class registration. Epp’s impact on DePaul has been enormous, establishing the groundwork for the university’s highly successful online learning program and overall digital footprint.
