HOWARD ROSING
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, STEANS CENTER FOR COMMUNITY BASED SERVICE LEARNING
Over his 20 years leading the Steans Center, Howard Rosing has woven DePaul's mission of service into the very fabric of the educational experience at DePaul. Rosing and his staff have shaped the university's signature community-based service-learning program, training countless faculty in effective service-learning practices and establishing ongoing relationships with well over two hundred community organizations worldwide. While at DePaul, he also created opportunities for under-resourced students to engage in funded work in support of Chicago communities and brought the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program to the university, where students take courses alongside incarcerated DePaul students at Stateville Correctional Center and Cook County Jail.
