JOYCE ANN SWEEN

Joyce Ann Sween joined DePaul in 1972 as part of a faculty team tasked with starting and growing the university’s sociology department. During her time at DePaul, Sween carried out important studies and evaluations with the Chicago Board of Education, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, the HIV program at Michael Reese Hospital and the Chicago Women's Aids Project, work that was later cited by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
