LAVOME ROBINSON
PROFESSOR, COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND HEALTH
As a professor of psychology and expert in mental health, LaVome Robinson is passionate about making a difference in underserved urban communities. Her focus areas include minority mental health, health promotion for African American youth, African American youth risk and protective factors, violence and suicide prevention for African American youth and school-based interventions. Along with colleague Professor Leonard Jason, Robinson–as the principal investigator–received a $6.6 million grant from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), the largest research grant in DePaul's history, for a clinical trial to bolster suicide prevention within the African American adolescent population.
