Headshot of Margaret Oppenheimer

MARGARET OPPENHEIMER

PROFESSOR EMERITA, DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS

Margaret Oppenheimer is a Vincent de Paul Professor of Economics (Emerita) at DePaul. She was the first woman to be hired as a tenure-track faculty member in the economics department—a field that to this day is male dominated. She taught generations of students and served as Faculty Council President and chair of the economics department.
Most importantly, she was a role model and pathbreaker for the (still few) tenure track women faculty in the economics department at DePaul.
