MARK TURCOTTE (TURTLE MOUNTAIN OJIBWE)

Mark Turcotte (Turtle Mountain Ojibwe) is a widely recognized voice in Chicago’s poetry scene. He currently teaches creative writing as visiting assistant professor in English at DePaul. He is committed to elevating Native literature, voices, lives and histories, which includes mentoring and providing support to Native writers across the nation. He mentors many of his former DePaul students and has invited them to read their poetry alongside him at events across the city.
