DePaul alumna Mikki Kendall is an author, activist and cultural critic who is determined to make a difference. The Chicago native’s work focuses on current events, including media representation, the politics of food, reproductive rights, poverty and race. She is the author of New York Times bestseller, “Hood Feminism: Notes from the Woman that a Movement Forgot,” which was the recipient of the Chicago Review of Books Award and was named the best book of the year by BBC, Bustle and TIME.
