RICHARD “PAT” RYAN

FORMER ASSOCIATE DEAN, SCHOOL OF CONTINUING AND PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

Longtime DePaul faculty member and associate dean, Richard "Pat" Ryan was viewed by many as “the heart of SNL” for his role as counselor at the School for New Learning, now the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Students and colleagues alike appreciated the balance of down-to-earth warmth with directness and candor in his personal and counseling style. In 2014, he received the Via Sapientiae Award, the university’s highest honor for faculty and staff. Ryan retired in 2015.
