FORMER CONCERTMASTER, CHICAGO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Violinist and 1955 graduate of the School of Music, Samuel Magad is an internationally recognized figure in the classical music world. Well before enrolling at DePaul, he made his debut at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) at the age of 11. Magad has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the DePaul Distinguished Alumnus Award.
My fondest memories were when I appeared as a student violin soloist with the DePaul Symphony Orchestra on numerous occasions. I was able to share these wonderful moments with my friends and colleagues in the orchestra.
