Well before enrolling at DePaul, he made his debut at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) at the age of 11. Then following graduation, he returned to the CSO and served as concertmaster for 35 years, playing a major role in the orchestra’s ascent from a reputable ensemble to global musical powerhouse. Magad has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the DePaul Distinguished Alumnus Award.
My fondest memories were when I appeared as a student violin soloist with the DePaul Symphony Orchestra on numerous occasions. I was able to share these wonderful moments with my friends and colleagues in the orchestra.
