Former DePaul basketball star Terry Cummings enjoyed an 18-year NBA career with the San Diego Clippers, San Antonio Spurs and Milwaukee Bucks and was awarded Rookie of the Year and a three-time All Star recognition. He was inducted into DePaul’s Hall of Fame in 2004. Now a Pentecostal pastor in Atlanta, the Chicago-native says he appreciated DePaul's Vincentian values and diverse student body. “The more you learn about people who are different from you, the more you realize we are all really the same,” he said. “Racism and prejudice are really just the signs of ignorance.”

I appreciated DePaul's Vincentian background and was involved with campus ministry my sophomore and junior years. We had Bible studies with everyone participating---white, black, Hispanic, domestic and foreign students---it didn't matter. There was so much diversity at DePaul, you learned how to interact with different types of people.
