TODD BEAMER

CLASS OF 1993

Todd Beamer earned his master’s degree from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business in 1993. Eight years later, on September 11, 2001, for what was intended to be a one-day business trip to California, he boarded United Airlines Flight 93, which was hijacked and headed for the U.S. Capitol. Leaning on his faith in the midst of the unspeakable, Beamer was among those who stormed the cockpit, uttering the now well-known "Let's Roll!" rallying cry before helping redirect the plane to a field in Pennsylvania, so that it never reached its intended target. He was 32 years old.
The courageous and selfless actions of Todd Beamer and the other passengers aboard Flight 93 certainly prevented further tragedy. I am proud to know he was a member of our DePaul community.
